Just Abide

Monday, September 9, 2013

I often forget not to do things in my own strength. The standards I set for myself are impossible for me to achieve in my own strength which more often then not leave me feeling discouraged and disappointed. It's in those times of seeming failure that I hear Jesus' words whisper in my ear,

Just abide.

I decided to make a printable for myself so that these are the words I'll see when I go to bed at night and when I wake up in the morning. It's a much needed reminder!

Click here for a free John 15:5 printable! I hope you enjoy it and never cease to abide in the True Vine.

Within The Veil

Monday, June 3, 2013

Oh the power of worship! Yesterday as I sang Christ Alone Cornerstone by Hillsong, a line jumped out at me:

"My Anchor Holds Within the Veil"

Christ our Cornerstone, not only is our Anchor but has also made us worthy to go within the veil of God's Presence. He even tore veil apart in His death so that wherever we are we may indeed be "inside" the veil of God's presence. His blood shed covers us and leads us into a living, lasting loving relationship with our Heavenly Father.

The line in this song is a humbling and powerful reminder of God's love for us and His continuous presence in our lives.

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.
Hebrews 6:19-20

The book of Hebrews is a great starting point to learn more about the ways in which the images of the Old Testament point to Jesus Christ.

Click here for a free printable I made for your personal use. May you be blessed as you continue to walk with the Lord in the light of His presence.

A Crown of Beauty

Monday, March 18, 2013

God Is Good

To bestow on them a crown of beauty
    instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
    instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
    a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
 Isaiah 61:3

Here is a free printable I made of this verse for you all! Click here to download it. I hope you enjoy!

Set Your Minds on Things Above

Monday, March 4, 2013

I remember pinning this Scripture photo a while back and wanted to share it with you all. "The Flourishing Abode" posted this printable on their blog about a year ago. What an amazing reminder for us all as we begin our week. The link above will direct you to The Flourishing Abode blog where you can download and print out the photo.

Choosing Joy Free Printable

Thursday, January 10, 2013

Recently I found a quote on Pinterest (yeah, I do love Pinterest!) that spoke volumes to me. I had been going through a bunch of changes that were hard to accept at times and in turn started to affect how I felt each day. Instead of facing the day with optimism, I felt negativity. It was hard to find contentment and happiness where I had before. But then I found this quote: Today I Will Choose Joy

Immediately I knew that I needed to change my perspective. I needed to see things from God's perspective. We can have joy even in the midst of change and hard trials. In fact the Bible tells us to consider it pure joy when we face trials of any kind!

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4

It may not always be easy to choose joyfulness in the midst of hard times, but rest assured that God sees, hears, and understands. He will work out all things for your good! (Romans 8:28)

So without further ado, please accept this free printable I made. I also got a frame lying around the house and put it in my room.

On the bottom right hand corner is Philippians 4:4 which exhorts us to rejoice in the Lord always.

Here are some other Bible verses you can look up that touch upon the topic of joy.

Psalm 16:11, Psalm 28:7 Luke 2:10, Galatians 5:22
