Great Grandma's Bible

I love old Bibles. The wear and tear, yellow pages and writing in the margins show character and heart. Within the last year or two, I've been blessed to find two of my great grandmothers old Bibles. It's been fun to look through the pages and see the inserts she kept in them. Just the other day I took a peek again into one of her old Bibles. I was looking for some knitting patterns, which she had lots of, that were tucked inside the front cover and also found more than a few interesting Bible facts she had written down years ago. I thought it would be fun to share them with you all today.

Bible Facts and Figures

-The Bible contains 1,189 chapters and 66 books
-The word "and" occurs 46,277; "Lord" 1,855 times and Reverend occurs just once which is in the 9th verse of the 111th Psalm
-The middle verse of the Bible is the 8th verse in the 118th Psalm
-21st verse of the 7th chapter of Ezra contains all the letters i the alphabet except the letter J
-The longest verse is in the 9th verse of the 8th chapter of Esther
-The shortest verse is the 35th verse of the 11 chapter of John

Isn't that awesome?! I'm pretty sure I copied down all the info correctly. My great grandmothers cursive is hard for me to read sometimes so I uploaded the photo for you all to see as well.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Join me today over at Christian Mommy Blogger where I'll be linking up Wednesday's post!
